Monday 4/1 Call to Action

Monday 4/1 Call to Action

It's been a week and we still haven't seen the Mueller report.  AG Barr has pledged to release a redacted version of the Mueller Report.  The House has voted, demanding that the full report be released by April 2.

Protests are planned for 5pm April 4, in the event that the report isn't released to the public.  Sign up here for events around the state.

The Saint Paul Capitol event is here.

Take a look at this coverage of a protest of stalled Minnesota bills.

"A group of Democrats calling themselves the "Senate Committee on Banned Bills" will hold an unofficial hearing Monday on bills the Republican majority has refused so far to hear.

That includes requiring universal criminal background checks on gun transfers; preserving an expiring tax on health care providers that helps fund health care programs; encouraging the hiring of more teachers of color; creating a paid family and medical leave system; restoring the rights of felons to vote when they get out of prison; and enacting a state Equal Rights Amendment."

And if you are interested in one bipartisan piece of legislation in Saint Paul, "Minnesota’s civil asset forfeiture law could be wiped out under legislation that has won the backing of lawmakers from across the political spectrum ... [but] Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen said the measure would dismantle law enforcement’s ability to use seized funds to disrupt Mexican cartel operations that continue to funnel record amounts of methamphetamine and heroin into the state."
