1. Special Counsel in Jeopardy?
In an interview with Judy Woodruff on PBS NewsHour, Trump friend, Chris Ruddy mentioned that Trump may be considering firing special investigator Robert Mueller.

The Trump administration, whom once thought so highly of Robert Mueller that they were considering him as a replacement for FBI director, are now attempting to set the tone that Mueller is biased and cannot lead a fair investigation. Trump supporters are jumping on that train. Former House speaker, in a tweet, said, “Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair. Look who he is hiring.check fec reports. Time to rethink.” In a previous time, this type of obvious slander wouldn’t stick but these days anything goes. Will this be enough to push Mueller out?
If we lose the special counsel what options are left to investigate the Trump/Russia affair and all the shenanigans that surround it? There are already committees in the House and Senate. Their effectiveness seems iffy. The last option would be setting up an independent commission. Are you as confused as I am about what this all means? If you are so inclined, give your senators and representative a call today and urge them to continue to fight for an independent commission. Here is a calling script from Indivisible Guide. As far as I can tell, the two bills referenced in this script are still alive. Does anyone else find it impossible to keep track of everything that has happened in this last year? Thankfully, there are some very smart, organized people out there that have been working hard to keep it all straight. Check it out.
This blog is a fantastic overview of Russia’s involvement in the 2106 U.S. elections. It also reviews the Trump/Russia scandal. This was lovingly created by one of us here in Minnesota.
