There's no sugar-coating it; this sucks. I don't think I can say anything other than don't give up.
1. The tax bill passed the Senate. It reduces corporate taxes, provides a means to deduct private school tuition, encourages corporations to automate at the expense of their workers, sets up for cuts to social security, medicare and medicaid, and reduces the estate tax.
So, what can we do?
Call our House members, and ask them to at least insist that the bill go to conference to make it less bad. Ask them to hold hearings, and not just vote for the Senate version.

2. One fewer votes in the Senate could make things more difficult for the Trump agenda. The Alabama Senate election is December 12. Check out postcards to voters.

3. With Rex Tillerson's likely departure as Secretary of State, we move closer to war with Iran. We should keep an eye on whether Congress might re-impose sanctions on Iran with a short, 60-day window it has to do so with a very short process; that window expires December 12.
