Tuesday 8/14 Call to Action

The Primaries are here! The polls are open and you have until 8 pm to vote. This is Minnesota’s first statewide election since 2016. I hope each and every one of you takes (or has taken) the time to vote, and has encouraged others to do so as well. Please remember, regardless of who wins today, we must all work together as a unified group to support the winners and help carry them through to victory in November.
We are just so lucky to live in a state like Minnesota that makes it easy for each and every one of us to vote. I also appreciate the fact that we have paper ballots! Have you forgotten to register? You can register at the polls; you will need a valid ID or a bill/bank statement with your address on it.
Check out the SoS website for where to vote and other frequently asked questions. https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-v…/election-day-voting

Here’s a list of most everyone who will be on the ballot today, with links to their websites. https://politicalcharge.org/…/minnesota-8-14-primary-at-a-…/
Here are some websites that will provide you with election results once the polls close. Now you too can repeatedly refresh them while you stress eat, just like me.
3. VOTE!!
Once you are finished voting in the primaries, it is time to get out and help our candidates WIN in November.
Every person needs to commit to helping increase voter turnout. Multiple studies have shown that personal contact with voters is the key to encouraging them to participate. NOW is the time to volunteer with a campaign to canvass. Push yourself out of your comfort zone these next three months. Share your enthusiasm for the DFL with others in Minnesota communities. You can rest easy at night knowing that you are doing your best to take back this country.
Each candidate on the November ballot will have a website where you can sign up to volunteer. That are myriad ways to help so if you haven’t already, sign up and get busy.
Check out these calendars for upcoming events near you.
Study after study shows that the most effective way to get people to vote is by having conversations with them in the four days before Election Day (Saturday, November 3rd–Tuesday, November 6th). Volunteer here to be part of the last big push. https://thelastweekend.org/?source=MN02
Join your neighbors to stand up against Trump and his terrible administration. #StandOnEveryCorner encourages all of us to get out in our communities and speak out about what’s happening in the U.S. right now. It’s simple and easy. Grab a sign and find a participating corner near you. Better yet, create your own corner and encourage others to join you. Attention Texters:
If we’re comfortable with technology and would like to help get Democrats elected by reaching out to voters via texting, let’s check out Build the Wave https://www.buildthewave.org/ Consider joining their Text the Vote team. https://www.textthevote.com
If we want to increase voter turnout, we can join the Vote by Mail enrollment #PostcardsToVoters campaign. When we do, we will get addresses of Democratic voters to send postcards to, encouraging them to sign up to vote by mail. Once they do,
each one of these Democratic voters will, for two years, automatically receive a ballot by mail for each election - big and small - for which they are eligible to vote. That bump in Democratic voter participation is “yuuuuuge!” We can ‪get in on the fun by emailing Join@TonyTheDemocrat.org or by texting JOIN to 484-275-2229

Each day I live I want to be A day to give The best of me I'm only one But not alone My finest day Is yet unknown I broke my heart Fought every gain To taste the sweet I face the pain I rise and fall Yet through it all This much remains I want one moment in time When I'm more than I thought I could....
