Friday 7/27 Call to Action

Friday
Holy cow! There is so much going on. So, so much.
1. Trump Knew
Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal attorney, claims that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton. Cohen's claim would contradict repeated denials by Trump, Donald Trump Jr., their lawyers and other administration officials who have said that the President knew nothing about the Trump Tower meeting until he was approached about it by The New York Times in July 2017. Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians' offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen's account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.
It has been proposed that the message Trump received that day was this: “Hit Hillary Clinton about the missing emails. Hit her hard. Don't stop. People don't like her, people don't trust her, and the email thing confirms their suspicions. That private email server of hers is going to give you the White House.” Remember, shortly after the Trump Tower meeting, Trump tweeted, questioning Hillary Clinton about 33,000 missing emails.
This could spell collusion for Trump, people.
2. A Subpoena for Trump’s Finance Chief
Allen Weisselberg, the longtime financial chief of the Trump Organization, is being subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury in the criminal investigation of President Trump's former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. Weisselberg has been managing the Trump Organization’s finances for years. He may also have been involved with payments to two women who alleged sexual encounters with Trump. He also did Trump’s taxes. Will we finally get a peek at Trump’s tax returns? Stay tuned. Things are heating up.
3. The Hackers Are at It Again
It has been discovered that Russian hackers, similar to those from 2016, attempted to breach the computer systems of Senator Claire McCaskill. This is the first know attempt for this midterm season, but I assure you it will not be the last.

Pair this with the fact that Republicans in the House refused to renew elections security funding last week.

Add to that the fact that in May, the Trump administration eliminated the position of cybersecurity coordinator on The National Security Council.

In an attempt to battle bots and troll, Twitter suspended more than 1 million accounts in May and June. It is on pace to do the same in July. This is more than double the suspensions from last year. The hackers are out there trying to wreak havoc on our elections.

4. Migrants Detained at The Border Report Terrible Treatment.
Remember this, the day after all the children were supposed to be (but weren’t) reunited with their families. Shame on the GOP.

What’s the call to action for all of this? Be sure to hold your GOP members of Congress accountable for all these new events. Most importantly, Get Out The Vote! Dedicate yourself to helping Democrats win in Minnesota.
I think it’s going to take an overwhelming wave of blue voters to stop this terrible Trump administration in November. All hands on deck! At this point, you should be helping out a campaign at least once a week. Expect to do more as the midterm elections get closer.
